The Lottery result in Icewind Dale is as feared as it is considered sacred. While interference is heavily frowned upon, that does nothing to stop rumors of rigged results from spreading. To a local fisherman of Targos, the rumors are his only hope when his childhood love is chosen as that New Moon's sacrifice. Will the adventurers be able to prove the rumors are true? Or is this simply a desperate attempt to save his one true love?
